The Folks
Abdessadek, an artisan who inherited weaving craftsmanship from his ancestors, founded the cooperative in 2009 in hope of offering his fellow artisans better and more humane work conditions. The workshop kept growing over the years and is impacting today over 160 families in a small village right outside Marrakesh.
The Tale
The cooperative specializes in ancestral weaving using a traditional horizontal loom. Each piece is handcrafted using the finest materials such as pure cotton and wool. In keeping with traditions, men take care of weaving the fabrics while women are in charge of meticulous details like embroidering tassels and macramé fringes.
